"The first building, built in 1887, was called the Joseph Kronser Hotel and Saloon but it was destroyed by fire. After the fire, Joseph Kronser rebuilt the hotel in 1897 and ran it as a railroad hotel with 5 bedrooms and also used as the railroad ticket office. The Kronser Hotel and Saloon was a large two story building and was the center of the town’s social events. The hotel has had numerous owners such as Schreiters, Pegal, Probst, Geo Reimer, Len Ruesh and Tennies. It was run as a hotel, with several different owners until 1934. In 1934 Henry Probst, had an auto dealership for Oldsmobile, Chevrolet, and Studebaker. Vic and Harold Tennie became the owner’s in1945. Vic and Norma Tennie bought Harold’s share in 1955. Kevin and Tina O’Shea bought the building in 1988. The building has always been a meeting place for the community and also has housed a barber shop run by Orv Polzin, a bus station, and a funeral parlor, and a fire dispatch station run by the tennis. Chicken dinners and hamburgers were served for many years and various road crews always ate at the station. Waning moon's phase was 68.95% full
Not everything that appears paranormal is.
Investigators, Christine (left) and Jodi (right) in the basement of the Greenville Station doing an EVP session. Notice the mouse in the upper right of the screen with glowing eyes. After setting off the REM Pod by keying up the handheld radios, you can see the mouse disappear out of view. Shortly after Christine and Jodi get scared when a sound comes from the direction of a box of noodles and dried vegetables sitting on the floor. Minutes later the REM Pod goes off again. We think that the mouse probably ran over the bag of noodles on the floor making the sound and Jodi keyed the radio when she got scared, setting off the REM Pod. It was a great debunk of a situation that otherwise appeared paranormal in nature. |
REM Pod Interaction at the Greenville Station
Investigators, Christine (front right), Jodi ( front left), Tia (rear bar), and Helen (rear bar) did some role playing in the bar room at the Greenville Station with hopes of enticing the spirits of either past bartenders or patrons. As I slipped off my bar stool the REM Pod starting alarming, letting us know that a spirit was near. Was he/she checking to see if I was ok in my fictional drunken stupor? Next, Brandon, a long time paranormal investigator of the Greenville Station, announces that he will be entering the bar room. The REM Pod again alarms. It is unknown if the spirits were happy or upset to see Brandon enter the scene, but the REM Pod action produced by the spiritual response was exciting to see. |
